This guide has been prepared by the Allotments Association for people who are thinking of taking on an allotment.
There is nothing more enjoyable than eating your own fresh vegetables! If you have never tasted freshly picked sweecorn for example, you have missed a flavour infinitely superior to that from shop-bought ones.
Wishful thinking? Not a bit of it! It is wonderful to come home with armfuls of your favourite flowers that you have grown yourself.
Can this be possible by having an allotment? We know it is!
Cultivating an allotment well is hard work - it would be dishonest to suggest that it is not - and it can also be quite time-consuming. It can however be deeply satisfying and provide you with a real sense of achievement. This is without even considering the physical benefits you will have gained from all the bending and stretching, lifting and carrying, digging and delving on your site.
