2007 Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting of the Bath & NE Somerset Allotments Association will take place in the Council Chamber of the Guildhall on Monday 15th October 2007 at 7pm.

AGENDA

  5. Trading Hut report/review
  6. Site Liaison - new definition of Site Rep's role
  7. Election of Officers & Site Reps - all positions up for re-election but need new Publicity Officer and Planning Issues Officer
  8. Vote of thanks for retiring officers
  9. Planning issues update - explained in Autumn Newsletter; questions at AGM.
  10. On-line Newsletter & opt-out of receiving paper/option to continue with paper.
  11. Negotiating more land for Allotments:
    1. Community Land Trust
    2. Green Spaces Strategy - progress report from Andy Chard
      (B&NES).
  12. Making our voices heard - Lobbying for Allotment provision:
    1. e-mail lobbying re council budget
    2. ward-based e-mail lobbying over development applications affecting allotments
    3. ask for volunteers to read out our representations at the Development Control committee meetings (monthly Wednesday afternoons)
  13. Allotment Centenaries and Celebrations:
    1. Larkhall centenary
    2. 1908 Allotments Act centenary
    3. Environmental Heritage grant application
  14. Proposed Motions:
    1. Report from Tim Baines on successful Motion to NSALG - request that members delegate to Committee discretion to submit further motion in December (to meet end of year deadline) if either (a) the National Executive has done nothing or (b) has not done enough as a result of the first Motion; otherwise potential help for vacant sites will be delayed by a further 12 months.
    2. Bonfires - see Newsletter: MOTION that the Association works towards ban by B&NES on all bonfires.
